Lion cub excitedly hugs its saviors whenever they appear, even after it being released in the wild

Animal

Just like humans, animals have feelings and emotions too. They might never forget those who were kind to them, even when many years have passed – just like this one adorable lion cub in Africa.

Valentin Gruener from Germany and Mikkel Legarth from Denmark once set up the Modisa Wildlife Project in Botswana, Africa, specializing in protecting and conserving the wildlife (especially lions and tigers) affected by illegal hunting.

The project also organizes classes for tourists visiting the Modisa wildlife park to promote wildlife protection and conservation.

A lion cub named Sirga lost its parents since it was little. When the cub was just 10-day-old, Sirga was raised and taken care of by Gruener, with the help of Legarth.

Under Gruener and Legarth’s care, Sirga grows into an adorable and tame, but a mighty lion. However, Gruener and Legarth realized that they can’t forever treat Sirga like their own and they might need to release Sirga into its real habitat in the wild again one day.

They realized that Sirga can’t be with them forever.

While growing up, the cute Sirga had an amazing relationship with Gruener and Legarth.

Sirga was very close with its savior and love to show affection to Gruener and Legarth by hugging and touching them.

Their relationship deepens as Sirga grows into a big beautiful lioness. But that changes nothing between them as Gruener and Legarth continue to shower Sirga with their love.

As Sirga is now a big lioness that can live on its own, the arrangement to release her into the wild was planned.

To make sure Sirga can lead a normal life in its normal habitat with fellow species in the future, Gruener and Legarth would bring Sirga to the jungle and teach it to hunt prey and live independently.

They taught Sirga how to hunt its own meal.

Sirga can now adapt to its new life and no longer need Gruener and Legarth to help it get her daily meals.

Sirga is now able to live comfortably in her habitat with the protection of the wildlife park and will be ready to be released into her group.

As time passed, Gruener and Legarth assumed that Sirga would already forget their faces. But it turned out that every time the two young men came to see Sirga, the lioness would run excitedly towards Gruener and Legarth, just like a child who missed her parents.

Sirga didn’t forget.

When Sirga was with Gruener and Legarth, it seems to forget that it is a dangerous animal and turned into a very affectionate big furry animal.

Sirga is happy as long as it can spend time with its loved ones, just like this.
