Koala desperately stops cyclist to ask for water as it can’t stand the wildfire heat anymore

Animal

As most of us already aware, Adelaide Hills in Australia was recently swept by the wildfires causing many animals to lose their habitat and sources of food and drinks – including this one pitiful koala.

The wildfire not only destroyed the animal habitat but also causing a drastic increase in temperature as it hits 40 degrees Celcius. In a story shared by Anna Heusler on her Instagram, she was stopped by a koala who seemingly can no longer stand the extremely hot weather.

Heusler and her friends were cycling together when they saw a koala in the middle of the road.

They stopped to help the koala and send it back to the nearest forest, but an amazing thing happened.

“We were descending from Norton Summit Road back into the city early this morning and we came around a bend and there was a koala sitting in the middle of the road. Naturally, we stopped because we were going to help relocate him off the road,” said Heusler to 7News.

“This Koala walked right up to me as I was descending and climbed up onto my bike while I gave him water. BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO ME ON A RIDE EVER,” she wrote in Instagram.

“I stopped on my bike and he walked right up to me, quite quickly for a koala, and as I was giving him a drink from all our water bottles, he actually climbed up onto my bike.”

“Weโ€™ve seen literally hundreds of koalas over the years, we have never seen a koala do this. None of us have ever seen anything like it.”

Thankfully, the koala was not harmed by the wildfire and was carefully escorted back into the nearest trees right after that.
